MISSION
INDIGENOUS VISION (IV) works to revitalize Indigenous communities – culture, people, and land – by providing educational resources through quality programs that promote well-being.
VISION
We envision a unified world of empowered Indigenous People where future generations are ensured healthy environments and strong cultures by honoring the traditions and knowledge of our ancestors.
HISTORY
IV began in 2013 when Souta Calling Last (Founder & Executive Director) was involved with organizing small community events that brought urban Indigenous People together for environmental teach-ins and educational events in the Phoenix metro. Shortly after, IV was formally established and incorporated on June 3, 2015, as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Phoenix, Arizona. We implement projects in local settings throughout Turtle Island and are led by an all-Indigenous Board of Directors and staff who are dedicated to providing healthy educational resources that honor the land, traditions, and societal contributions of Indigenous People through many forms of expression such as story-telling, land & water knowledge, song, dance, art, and food. Our work is community-supported and funded by donations, grants, fee-for-service, and made possible by interns and volunteers.
