Help Indigenous reclaim land for current and future generations! The deadline is fast approaching (November 13, 2024) and we need sponsors and donations to secure our bid for the 326 acres up for sale by the Montana Historical Society.
This project rooted deeply in cultural preservation, environmental stewardship, and community healing. Our Executive Director, Souta Calling Last is a sixth-generation descendant of the Blackfoot Chiefs who signed the historic Treaty at this location and we are leading an effort to reclaim and protect untouched grasslands in this region. This land is not only ecologically valuable but also a vital part of our heritage and a place where we envision future generations gathering for cultural activities, knowledge sharing, and community building.
“I’m the 6th generation of grandkids of the chiefs who signed the treaty there and I would like the 7th generation to be camped there doing cultural activities”
Souta Calling Last, Blackfeet Nation
We are raising funds to meet a minimum bid requirement of $55,000, and we are proud to share that we’ve reached $16,000 so far. However, we need additional support to reach our goal and secure this sacred land for the Blackfoot people. We are reaching out to ask for your support in making this vision a reality.
Your sponsorship will not only aid in the preservation of these precious grasslands but will also support a community initiative aligned with environmental stewardship, Indigenous rights, and sustainable cultural practices. In addition to protecting this land, your contribution will help provide a dedicated space for Indigenous youth to reconnect with their heritage and the environment, fostering a legacy of resilience, pride, and respect for our planet.
We would be honored to recognize you as a key supporter of this cause. As a sponsor, your company would be prominently acknowledged in all our public communications, including social media, press releases, and events related to this project. We believe this partnership will highlight your commitment to environmental and social responsibility and resonate with your community-minded values.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to support the Blackfoot community’s journey to reclaim and revitalize our land and traditions. I would be grateful to speak with you personally to discuss the sponsorship opportunities and answer any questions you may have.
