May 5th is National Day of Awareness for Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls. This year Indigenous Vision is proud to be at events across three states; Montana, Arizona, and Nevada.
Our team members are working behind the scenes putting together several self defense kits to hand out to Indigenous Women, Girls, Non-Binary, and Trans folx this May 5th.
Along with the keychain kit, each person will receive a QR code to the Wisawca Project created by Kola Thompson. The code will take you to a valuable form that you and anyone else you know can fill out with important information should you go missing or encounter violence and are unable to speak up.
Please use and share this form, fill it out, print two copies, share them with someone you trust, keep one for someone to find either physically or digitally.
What else can we do to raise awareness about the MMIWG crisis? Paint your town red! On May 5th you can wear red to show your support, light your yard or house with red solar panels, hang a red dress in your yard. If you can’t make it out to any events, the above mentioned are great ways to show support and get more people educated about this ongoing and very real epidemic.
Indigenous Vision will be in Missoula, Montana lighting up the symbolic ‘M’ red with solar lights for the third year in a row. Our youth coordinator, Faye Poley will be at the Phoenix, Arizona State Capitol on Washington St. handing out our self defense kits, while Melissa Spence will be at the yet to be announced event in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This is the right blog for everyone who wants to find out about this topic. You understand so much its almost hard to argue with you (not that I personally would want toÖHaHa). You certainly put a new spin on a topic thats been written about for decades. Wonderful stuff, just great!
